Why not make your next handbag red?

Red handbags are such an easy way to add a little color to whatever you’re wearing, and I especially like them this time of year, when our impulse is to retreat into darks. I have shown you this backpack from Kara before, I’m pretty sure (in black), but they get the red so right here that I had to give it another go-around.

Just a classic, classic duffel shape.

Madewell’s Transport tote in red gets really cool-looking.

I just adore this: so rich and sophisticated-looking.

A bit of a bucket shape, with two handy straps for versatility.

This reminds me a bit of a saddlebag, but the shape is more interesting.

A nifty work-to-evening option.

I could carry this day in and day out—it’s small, but big enough for the essentials, and so cute.

And we’ll end things where we started them, with a backpack: this one from Mansur Gavriel.

I’ve reached that “no more ordering until I get back to Texas” stage in my East Coast stay, but I’ve bookmarked the KARA Nano Tie cross body bag because it is perfect!

Funny, my (L.L. Bean loving) husband once told me he thought “only crazy women carry red purses”. He would deny saying it I am sure, though he does have a good eye, and I have been a little skeptical of red-purse-carriers since!
(I am sure you are just fine! ;))

The Kara nano tie is on sale for $169 at barneyswarehouse.com in the Poppy Red color, which has orange undertones and is a lovely color for those who can pull it off. I have this bag and I absolutely adore it- fits a card case, iPhone, keys, lipstick, and my very small ray-bans. Highly recommend!
