  1. I still remember watching my first Jonathan Demme film “Something Wild” as a teen and I was so delighted by it. I even bought the soundtrack album. So many great movies and memorable moments/lines in those movies. He will remain one of my all time favorite filmmakers. Rest In Peace, Mr. Demme.

The world of film will miss Jonathan Demme.

That Jonathan Demme was a graduate of the Roger Corman film school is not surprising. Rachel Getting Married, though difficult to watch at times, is an excellent movie that gave Anne Hathaway a chance to show her stuff — and boy did she — thanks in no small part to Mr. Demme’s guidance.

Jonathan was on the board of our film center in Pleasantville. I would see him around time. The first time I saw him I told him how much I like “Silence of the Lambs” and “Stop Making Sense”.
