    My beautiful 1986 1st edition book-of-the-month club edition of The Handmaid’s Tale is sitting right next to me.

    Those beautiful young authors and their words about it make me want to read it again, 31 years after I first read it, sort of.

    (my favorite sign from marching with both the women and scientists–I can’t believe we still have to protest this shit…)

    Irony of ironies: Handmaiden TV showrunner/ creator is male. Show is good — but men get 80% of TV showrunner jobs. And there is no shortage of female talent out here.

    Dittos and Vans (two-tone) were all the rage in my So Cal middle school. The Vans I got, and that was cool. But I never did have a pair of Dittos and oh, that hurt.
