I’ve been following the Simon and Schuster story through a literary friend.
So brave of Gay to pull her book…I hope other publishers come forward in a rush to publish it.
Such a challenge, for us all, to reason what free speech truly means in these new times…
I’m a huge fan of Roxane Gay––such a brilliant writer. I also appreciate how she was clear about how fortunate she felt she could walk away from her publisher because so many writers can not afford to make a choice as drastic as hers and that those writers who cannot should not receive “blame” for having to do what they have to do in order to survive.
I love the Bad Lip Reading series and this is a corker!
I love those his ‘n hers looks. The hair! The flares! The crocheted vests! Never mind that I actually wore some of this stuff (but never with a male twin).
I have never read anything by Roxane Gay, but after reading her interview in Entertainment Weekly and this, I am pretty sure I want to be her best friend!
I remember when my grandma made me a crocheted vest. I thought I was SO cool!
Is that Cybil Sheppard as a model in the twinning piece?!
I think so – in the green vest with macrame belt (shudder!). Good catch! Cheryl Tiegs also maybe (red white & blue?).
