The fact that I am endorsing this tank dress represents a major shift in policy for me, as I am typically, vehemently anti-maxi. But this one has such a nice, sophisticated neckline—a rarity for this silhouette—and slouch for days.
Thanks Kim for turning me on to Everlane. I ordered this dress in grey last week (arriving tomorrow!) and plan to wear on vacation… Everlane is supercool
I have a serious Everlane addiction. Love this dress…
Everything I’ve ordered from Everlane I love. Although as a vertically challenged person I avoid dresses/skirts that are maxi in length, this one does appeal because it looks as comfy as pjs.
Are the armholes really big?
I love Everlane! I have always had great luck with them. One thing, though, upon watching the video of the model, I could see her underwear. Sigh.
I usually dislike maxis too, even though I love the idea. This one comes close — but I can’t do a dropwaist. On others it may work very well.
All this dress needs is a quick trip to the seamstress to cut off about 7 inches and make it mid calf and it would be my route to summer happiness!
Tailoring is always an option!
That is a brilliant idea. Done.
I vote YES! I love maxis, and own several…no lady bits issues.
Same here. I wear them year ’round.
I have this dress and it runs big. I’m a M (8/10) and had to exchange for a S.
The size chart said L = 8-10, so that’s what I ordered. Are you sure it is the same dress?
Yes, I am 5’8, 160 and a 36 B, 30 jeans and the L was huge. The M was loose, as pictured. I went with the S which was more fitted/flattering but shorter…more of a long midi length. Their customer service was amazing and you can order the exchange to compare with free shipping/return shipping.
I’m a chubbier version of you so let’s see how the large runs!
the large worked for me :-\
Uh-oh! I just ordered the medium. I’m 6’0, 155, and am hoping it works. I’m glad you’re saying customer service is good, just in case!!
My sister is the only person on the planet who looks good in maxi dresses – she’s tall and willowy, with boobs. They work with her ‘high end hippie chick’ look. NO ONE else should wear them.
I have a long linen one from j crew last year that I like.
I feel like the crispness of the linen makes it work.
No slouch though.more like a shift.
Like the look. But easy, breezy? No way. In real life, it’s like a mini sweat lodge.
I totally agree. I think they look so nice but whenever I’ve tried to wear them I’m way too hot, especially in this NYC heat and humidity!
I’m expecting to see a LOT of major shifts in policy change from the candidates in the next presidential election, Kim…so why not you?
I’m so excited about this dress. It came while I was gone for a long weekend, and I opened it this morning, immediately changed, and spent the morning in it, teaching a group of gorgeous middle school girls. It was comfortable and cool, and I felt rather elegant, and it was so very easy to sit on the floor with them, to move around, and looked great (still does!). I love it!!
