My favorite markdowns

So much good stuff on sale, people—enough to really affect a person’s ability to focus on normal everyday activities. And yet focus one must. So allow me to do a little brain dump here: that way, maybe you can find some nice pieces, and I can maybe move on. Like for instance: Things—some very, very nice things, and lots of them—are up to 50 percent off at the high-end Canadian site Ssense. I’m pretty sure my life would actually be just a few degrees better if this scarf collar coat with that excellent white stripe was in it.

Two well-established facts: I love a Vince sweater; and love a well-executed combination of blue and black. I do not especially like a color-block, but I feel it works here.

Everything on the Fleabags site is 25 percent off, which means that I am having to sit on my hands to keep from buying this blue bag that you may or may not recall my having gotten all sloppy over a while back.  I also love this blanket satchel, with its nervy color combination of yellow and red. It reminds me of a Jean-Charles de Castelbajac bag I bought back when I was in college that could not have been more loud, and could not have brought me more joy.

Sessun is one of my new favorite lines: every time I see a cute little jacket somewhere, it ‘s inevitably theirs. This one is nicely marked down at Steven Alan.

Something with as bold a print as this Theyskens Theory top practically begs to only be purchased on sale—in this case, at Barneys.

As do these pink Loewe sunglasses from Aloha Rag.

Bird’s sale is a fantasia of prints, more than a few of which are Isabel Marant, which is always nice to see marked down.

Right now J Crew is taking 30 percent off of everything, whether you’re shopping on the site or in one of their stores. Which in my household can only mean trouble in the cashmere section. In a season of excellent fair isle sweaters, is this not one of the more excellent?

The same 30 percent deal goes over at the Crew’s little sister line, Madewell. This stadium jacket is both the cutest and least expensive version of a trend I’ve been loving all season.

I do love a pretty Rachel Comey print dress, especially when going to look at it provides an excuse to visit one of my favorite indie e-boutiques,Les Nouvelles.

  1. Either J.Crew’s fit models have shrunk or cost-cutting measures have lopped a couple of inches off women’s tops and sweaters.

I’m 5’9″ (which is the petite side of tall) and any Crew top I’ve tried on this season looks like it shrunk in the wash.

I wish their Creative Director Jenna Lyons, who is 6 foot infinity, would lobby for tall sizes.

And, yes, that sweater is awesome to the 10th power.

I have another complaint about J. Crew cashmere sweaters — they pill to the point of no return after just a few months of wear. In recent years, I have not been able to make one of their cashmere sweaters last longer than a single season. It’s a shame.

That is a cute sweater. And I’m glad it has long sleeves. I hate the 3/4 ones.

    That Azumi coat is fantastic.

I remember when you had the hots for that blue bag and I felt the same. At 25% off I just might be forced to buy it. It’s just magnificent and even pretty awesome. (I’m such a bag whore; seriously, I need to just stop.)

Damn you, and damn that Theyskens Theory blouse on sale (in the best possible way, of course).

I hope you’re getting kickbacks from these stores because I just dropped a bundle at Madewell, a shop I had never heard of before your link.
